Detlef Surrey: I’m an illustrator and comic artist in Berlin.
For the joy of drawing, I always carry a sketchbook with me – in addition to my professional work on the computer – capturing what surrounds me, on my travels as well as in my city Berlin. I‘m a passionate observer and as a cartoonist, I always add a pinch of humour to my sketches.
Since 2012 I‘m active in the Urban Sketchers network.
As an illustrator, I work for agencies, publishers and social organizations. For the German Bundestag, I created the sympathetic character Karlchen Adler for children – with whom I habe since been creating comic stories, information material and animations.
I‘m a member of the German Professional Association of Illustration Illustratoren Organisation e.V., of which I was a board member 2018–2020.
Detlef Surrey: Ich bin Illustrator und Comiczeichner in Berlin.
Aus Freude am Zeichnen habe ich neben meiner professionellen Arbeit am Computer immer ein Skizzenbuch bei mir und halte darin fest, was mich umgibt – auf Reisen ebenso wie in meiner Stadt Berlin. Ich bin ein leidenschaftlicher Beobachter und als Cartoonist fließt immer eine Prise Humor in meine Skizzen ein.
Seit 2012 bin ich im Netzwerk Urban Sketchers aktiv.
Als Illustrator arbeite ich für Agenturen, Verlage und gesellschaftliche Organisationen. Für den Deutsche Bundestag, kreierte ich die Sympathiefigur Karlchen Adler – mit welcher ich seither Comic-Geschichten, Info-Materialien und Animationen für Kinder erstelle.
Ich bin Mitglied des deutschen Berufsverbands für Illustration Illustratoren Organisation e.V., dessen Vorstand ich 2018-2020 angehörte.
