Direkt hinter dem Gebäude verlief bis 1989 die Grenze zwischen Ost- und West-Berlin.
An dieser Stelle gehörte der Landwehrkanal in ganzer Breite zum Westen und das Fischerbootshaus lag direkt vor der Grenzmauer. Legal nur über das Wasser zu erreichen.
Heute sind die Überbleibsel der Grenze kaum noch nachvollziehbar und das Gebäude beherbergt jetzt den “Club der Visionäre”.

Until 1989, the border between East and West Berlin ran directly behind the building.
At this point, the Landwehrkanal belonged to the west across its entire width and the fishing boathouse was located directly in front of the border wall. Legally accessible only by water.
Today, the remnants of the border are hardly traceable and the building now houses the “Club of Visionaries”.
